It only took an hour or two to drive to Sarah’s house for the wedding, but it felt like years because Jade kept talking about how she was so excited for Ashlynn and I to finally get together. As much as I wanted her to shut her big ass yap I was happy that my sister was acting like herself again and not moping around like before. Jade, Ashlynn, and myself decided to stay at a local hotel. Sarah and Maddox offered to let us stay at one of their houses but we declined. Ashlynn and I needed our privacy and Jade probably did too for after the wedding. Not that I wanted to know about my sister’s sex life.

Checking into our rooms I had to carry everybody’s bags to those rooms. Not that I mind carrying Ash’s single bag, but Jade, of course, had to have a separate bag for shoes, clothes, and then one for hair and make-up. Like what the fuck were in those bags?

Once the door was closed to mine and Ashlynn’s room I asked, “Do you want to get a bath together?”

She just smiled and nodded her head.

I walked into the bathroom and turned the water to warm and filled it with a soap that was left next to the tub and watched as the soap quickly turned to bubbles. After the bath was filled I walked out to our room and saw Ashlynn was talking to someone on the phone smiling. I walked over to our bed and sat down and waited for her.

“Yes Daddy. I know what you think but I’m really happy. Wait, you want to talk to him?” Ashlynn handed the phone to me and said, “My dad wants to talk to you.” She then kissed me on the cheek and after sucking my earlobe into her mouth she whispered, “I’ll be waiting for you.”

Taking the phone from her I gulped and said, “Hello?”

Her dad’s voice came bellowing through and said, “Jason. Right?”

“Yes, Mr. Miller.”

I heard him chuckle. “Well, at least you have manners. What do you want with my little girl Jason Williams?”

I decided to just put it all out there. “To be perfectly honest Mr. Miller I want to marry Ashlynn Miller someday and I wanted to ask for your permission.”

The line was silent for a second but then he said, “You’re not kidding with me, are you?”

I shook my head but then realized he couldn’t see me and said, “No Mr. Miller. I’m not.”

His tone then turned really serious and asked, “Why should I say yes to you Jason?”

I let out and breath and said, “In complete honesty Mr. Miller you shouldn’t. Ashlynn deserves everything and I can’t give her that, but I can tell you that you’ll never find anyone who loves your daughter as much as I do.”

He laughed and said, “Well, you’ve got balls kid. I’ll give you that at least.”

I cleared my throat and said, “Mr. Mill -,” but was cut off when Ashlynn’s dad said, “Call me Garrett, son.
